GPF Sanctioning
GPF Member Countries - Proudly Brand and Co-Sanction Your Tournament with the Global Governing Body
Why Sanction
GPF-member countries can now co-sanction their tournaments with the Global Pickleball Federation. International tournaments that are sanctioned by GPF receive the following:
- Use of the GPF sanctioning logo for marketing and credibility
- Listing on the GPF Events page of the website
- Access to the GPF Tournament Director Handbook
- Referee technical support
Learn more about the advantages of sanctioning your tournament with the Global Pickleball Federation below.
Sanctioning Benefits
Sanctioning is the process through which the Global Pickleball Federation grants qualifying tournaments with the GPF-sanctioned designation. A Tournament Director (TD) who applies and receives sanctioning agrees to meet and abide by all GPF sanctioning requirements. As a result, TDs instantly convey a message of confidence to their players as they will know that the tournament has agreed to follow all GPF rules, equipment standards and play formats.
GPF also offers three sanctioning options:
- No-Referee
- Medal Match Plus (MMP)
- Standard sanctioning
The No-Referee option requires a trained referee to be onsite as the head referee; Medal Match Plus sanctioning allows for a modified referee requirement; and Standard sanctioning requires all matches to be refereed.
GPF Right of Refusal
GPF reserves the right to refuse to sanction tournaments, list tournaments on the GPF website/events list, or accept advertising where a tournament director has:
- Not complied with GPF policies or rules
- Disparaged GPF
- Created deceptive or confusing forms, advertising or promotional materials wrongly implying or stating GPF involvement in the tournament or making other factual misstatements that could mislead players on significant matters. This includes duplicating major GPF tournament names, with terms such as “Global”, “World”, “International”, “Continental”, etc. where GPF deems the term is in direct conflict with an existing or planned GPF event.
