Membership in the Global Pickleball Federation is the single path to ensure your country’s association with pickleball at the highest level. As the GPF-recognized National Governing Body for your country, you will be aligned with the international governing body for pickleball and, with it, the opportunity for Olympic participation for your country.

Competitive Pickleball

To ensure players can develop the skills to compete in safe and ethical environments, and coaches and officials have the training + competencies to prepare players and to officiate at competitions respectively.

To ensure that players and officials widely participate in national, continental, and international competitions.

Path to Membership

The preferred path for GPF membership is through your associated Continental Federation (CF) & first meeting their requirements for membership.  After providing your basic contact details, please select the appropriate Continental Federation and proceed to that organization’s membership application. Upon completion, your application will be evaluated for membership in both your Continental Federation and the GPF.  Following this evaluation, you will be notified of your membership status.

The Confederation of African Pickleball (CAP) aims to represent, promote and encourage African pickleball players across the world - our confederation is unaffiliated with any international federation or player association.

The Pickleball Federation of the Americas (PFA) is a non-profit corporation organized and operated exclusively for educational, scientific and charitable purposes. The PFA serves its member countries by promoting and supporting pickleball growth and development throughout South America, Central America, the Caribbean, and North America.

Asian PickleBall Association

APA hopes to introduce Pickleball to all Asia nations. We adopt the official rulebook and worldwide code of conduct for pickleball athletes established by USA Pickleball. Our main activities will be in Asia.

Jen Ramamurthy

Jen Ramamurthy of Brisbane, Australia has been involved with the development of pickleball in Australia since 2018 and currently sits as the Board Chair for Pickleball Australia. More recently she has also been part of the team who established the Oceania Pickleball Federation. Jen's responsibilities include overseeing the development and implementation of effective strategic plans and assisting with managing the growth of pickleball in the region to ensure the sustainability of both organisations. Jen's background includes 25 years of teaching, leadership and teacher education in the disciplines of Physical Education and Science, while simultaneously taking on coaching and sports management responsibilities at regional, state, and national levels in various sports. Jen is currently working as the co-founder and director of a company that delivers affordable solar to the remote and rural regions of Papua New Guinea. She holds a Masters of Education degree in e-learning and Gifted Education.

Dr. Kwabena Dautey Akufo

Africa Continental Director

Apostle Dr. Kwabena Dautey Akufo of Accra, Ghana, is President of the Ghana Pickleball Association and the Confederation of African Pickleball (CAP). Most recently, Dr. Akufo was influential in adding pickleball as a demonstration sport to The African Games for the first time, to be held in Accra, Ghana in March 2024. Dr. Akufo is also Chairman of the Seminary Governing Council of Apostolic Church Theological Seminary (ACTS) located in Kumasi, Ghana. He served on the board of Altiostar Networks from 2013-2021, developing cell phone tower products. Prior to Pastoral Ministry, he spent 20 years as an engineer in the computer industry, as Vice President and General Manager of Internetworking Engineering at Tellabs, a telecom company. Dr, Akufo taught Computer Science as an adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of Lowell (now University of Massachusetts, Lowell) and at Boston University, and is the author of three ministry books.

He has a Doctor of Ministry and a Master of Arts in Religion from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, Massachusetts. He also has a Master of Science in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Economics from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Tony Casey

Canadian Representative

Tony Casey of Vancouver, Canada, served as a Director and Vice President of Pickleball Canada for four years. He currently chairs the Global Affairs committee for Pickleball Canada and is a leader of a pickleball schools project in east Vancouver. Casey was a founding board member of the Pickleball Federation of the Americas (Continental Federation for the Western Hemisphere) and the Global Pickleball Federation.

As a former program director in the Canadian health sector, Casey has thirty-five years of management experience (local, provincial and national) in health promotion and wellness, heart health and cardiac rehabilitation, public and emergency health, and organizational development. He was the initial fitness and coordinator for the Vancouver Canucks professional hockey team. He has filled roles as a volunteer, coach, organizer, program manager and board member for ice hockey, soccer and baseball, and was named Executive of the Year on two occasions. Tony Casey enjoys playing pickleball in Vancouver, Phoenix and Oaxaca City, and on the west coast of Ireland. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University and Master of Arts degree from the University of Victoria.

Cynthia Clark

Canadian Representative

Cynthia Clark of Calgary, Alberta, is an experienced entrepreneur consulting in sectors that include commercial and retail sales, human resources, start-ups and business development. Clark has served on a variety of boards (profit and not-for-profit) for over 20 years. She is currently on the board as a Director of Pickleball Canada (since September 2021) chairing PCO’s Recreational Pickleball Committee; The J T Clark Family Foundation, whose mission is to assist charitable organizations within New Brunswick; and Passamaquoddy Lodge, Development Committee working on replacing a 60-bed nursing home, in Saint Andrews, New Brunswick. Clark brings her background in sales, marketing, and customer service to each of these roles.

Presently, Clark is Vice President of Marketing for East Coast Innovation Inc., bringing innovative solutions to a wide range of challenges and problems within the aquaculture sector. She stays current by attending Institute of Corporate Directors seminars. She took her first pickleball lesson in 2021 and has been hooked ever since. Clark graduated from the Ivey School of Business.

Mark Fabbro

USA Representative

Mark Fabbro, of Boston, Massachusetts, is an avid pickleball player, certified instructor and member of the Board of USA Pickleball. Mark first played pickleball in 1980, while growing up in British Columbia, Canada, just a short distance from Bainbridge Island, WA – the birthplace of pickleball.

Fabbro has more than 20 years of executive experience in Marketing, Media, and Advertising, serving in leadership roles at multiple global companies in New York and Boston. Mark’s work extends from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups, and his experience in Strategy, Branding, Digital, Media, and Creative has helped many grow their global brands and businesses in the Financial Services, Healthcare, CPG, Travel, and Sports categories. While working at Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide, Grey Worldwide, and Arnold Worldwide, some clients included Titleist/Acushnet Holdings, Ocean Spray, Novartis Consumer Health, Johnson & Johnson and General Mills. Mark graduated from Brown University (Providence, RI) where he was captain of Brown’s Division 1 Men’s Hockey Team. He is a dual citizen of Canada and the United States.

Justin Maloof

USA Representative

Justin Maloof of Phoenix, Arizona was named Executive Director for USA Pickleball on January 1, 2013 and was the organization’s first full-time employee. He was elevated to Chief Operating Officer in 2021. As USA Pickleball’s COO, he is responsible for the overall operation of the organization. He also oversees USA Pickleball’s operational structure, sustainability and service to its members and sponsors. Maloof is entering his 12th year with USA Pickleball and his 32nd year in professional/amateur sports. Prior to joining USAP, he served 16 years with the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes Hockey Club. He served 2 years as the team’s head fan development before being named Executive Director of the team’s training center in Scottsdale.

Michael Johnson


Mike Johnson of Manila, Philippines has a diverse career as commercial helicopter pilot, entrepreneur and businessman. He is a world pickleball ambassador, certified pickleball Instructor, founder and current Chairman of the Philippine Pickleball Federation (PPF), co-founder and former Secretary General of the Singapore-based Asia Federation of Pickleball (AFP) and former Secretary of the International Federation of Pickleball (now known as IPF). Mike also served as co-chair of the international pickleball rules committee, and as a founding member of both the Unify Pickleball Task Force (UPTF) and the International Pickleball Action Committee (IPAC), which formed to unite the sport under a single international governing body. Today Johnson serves on the Board of Directors of the Global Pickleball Federation, (GPF) and continues to work toward global unification of the sport.

Steve Sidwell

Vice President

Steve Sidwell of Paso Robles, California began his career in international regulatory affairs. His work enabled global market access for medical devices, which fueled his lifelong passion for diverse cultures. Sidwell discovered pickleball in 2013, and his love for the game flourished. He served in USAPA roles from District Ambassador to West Coast Regional Director, overseeing 220 Ambassadors and the first 1,000-participant USAPA Regional Tournament.

His international pickleball journey began in Madrid in 2015, from tournaments across Europe to an alliance to organize the sport globally. Serving as President and Membership Director of an international pickleball organization, he tirelessly worked to unify over 60 countries across five continents. In 2022, Sidwell championed the formation of the Global Pickleball Federation, uniting the top ten pickleball-playing countries as Vice President of the Pickleball Federation of the Americas, before assuming his current role as GPF Vice President. He holds a B.S. degree in Business from the University of Nebraska.

Americas Continental Director

Javier Regalado of Mexico City, Mexico is a founding member of the Liga Profesional de Pickleball Mexico (LPPM), the governing body for pickleball in Mexico. He was chosen to serve as the first President for the Pickleball Federation of the Americas (PFA), the continental federation for the Western Hemisphere, and is currently serving as the first President of the Global Pickleball Federation (GPF).

Regalado has enjoyed an extensive international career as an entrepreneur. He has championed several start-up companies and served as a Board Member in a variety of industries in his native Mexico and the U.S. including:  automotive, logistics, finance, real estate, tourism and baked goods. His love for pickleball grew out of his background in tennis, having played college tennis at the University of Texas at El Paso where he earned an Engineering Degree. Regalado received his MBA degree in Mexico City, and travels frequently between Mexico and the U.S.
